Three Dimensional Illumination

Three Dimensional Illumination

The correction of the illumination is monitored by specialist software thus always ensuring evenly illuminated reproductions. Should a three-dimensional surface be reproduced, for example a painting, there exists the possibility of operating with genuine streak illumination. The specialist software assists in avoiding light fall-off to the corners and enhances the three dimensional properties of the subject being captured.

Using this technique, effects can be achieved exceeding pure reproduction, thus fulfilling demands of both conservationists and aesthetics.

Light BoxLED Repro Lightbox

The LED lightbox enables any transparent object up to 30 x 40 cm to be captured. The translucent box also covers the demands by conservationists for digitisation of original glass negative plates, with an innovative LED-technique, the glass negatives are not damaged by any heat. A special holder permits the touch-free scanning of different formats whilst a colour temperature of 5,500 Kelvin ensures colour neutral reproduction.

Book CradleBook Cradle

The copying easel automatically adjusts the position of the book so that despite different thicknesses, the two halves lie perfectly flat against the glass plate cover, whilst at the same time, fully supporting the weight of the book. When handling valuable books, the glass plate can be removed so that nothing comes into contact with the surface of the pages. All of our craftsmen have many years experience in handling valuable and fragile artworks of many kinds.

Certified Proofing System

We also offer a full colour adjustment/proofing service where images can be supplied with a certified colour proof and ICC profiled image archiving. All aspects of work carried out by the studio are ICC colour managed in order to ensure the colour integrity of the files, proofs and prints.
